Gracie the Whale is the official mascot of Grace Community School. She loves kids, teaching them how to read, having fun, swimming, and especially going to our twice-annual musical shows to watch the kids perform. Gracie is a very important part of our school family. She helps make our school a fun and safe place for everyone.
In case you didn’t know, Gracie is a whale. That means she is big! And she loves to swim. She can often sometimes be seen patrolling our Southwest Florida beaches. But Gracie isn’t just a great swimmer, she is also an amazing teacher. She spends a lot of her time helping our younger students learn to read. She is always so patient with them and takes the time to make sure they understand everything.
Gracie loves going to our musical shows. She loves seeing the kids perform and always cheers them on. It’s one of her favorite things to do. She also loves swimming, obviously, but she really enjoys spending time with the kids and teaching them new things.
What does Gracie represent?
Gracie represents everything that is good about our school. She is friendly, helpful, and always eager to learn herself. She also loves to have fun and enjoys being surrounded by friends. Gracie is a great role model for our students, and we are proud to have her represent us. She also helps promote our school values of respect, responsibility, and cooperation and greatly encourages our kids. Gracie is truly one of a kind!

What is Gracie’s favorite part of the job?
Gracie loves everything about her job, but if she had to choose one thing, it would be getting to know all of the different students at our school. She enjoys learning about their hobbies, interests, and what they want to be when they grow up. It is so rewarding for her to see the students achieve their goals and make great progress in their schooling. Gracie is also proud to be a part of such a supportive and friendly school community.
What are some of Gracie’s hobbies?
Gracie loves spending time with her friends, both human and animal. She enjoys going for walks on the beach, swimming, and playing games. She also likes to play music and dance around. Gracie loves learning new things too, so she is always up for trying something new. One of her recent interests has been painting – she’s not too bad at it either!
Why did we choose Gracie as our mascot?
We chose Gracie because she embodies all of the qualities that we want our students to possess. We want our students to be friendly, helpful, hardworking, and passionate about learning. Gracie represents all of those things and more. Gracie the Whale also ties in with our spiritual mission embodied by the Bible verse Matthew 12:40 – it is a reminder that no matter what happens in this life, we have hope because of Jesus.
